After jailbreaking, there are several things you can do: mute camera sound, install any program (including the one that requires high capabilities).

For older firmware, a phone software is avaibale (Hello OX) to jailbreak (requires developer certificate which you can get from some Chinese site). For later versions, we will need desktop software to modify ROM. The ROM modification uses tools that are not freely available.

After jailbreaking, it will be possible to install RomPatcher or RomPatcherPlus that will enable us to disable or enable certain OS features.

Silencing Camera, Video, Recording Tones

You need to jailbreak or use other camera apps to silent the camera.
