STAR 9100 SoC is being used in many Network Attached Storage Devices, with Linux Operating System on it. Unfortunately those devices doesn't come with Linux source code. Many people have requested the source code, but until now, none of the hardware producers have complied with GPL.
Fortunately Kernel 2.4 source code for two of the STR9100 based devices are available from LinkSys (WAP200 and WRVS4400N). Based on those two source codes I have ported latest Linux Kernel 2.6 to run on STR9100 device based SoC.
==Update== After Starsemi was acquired by Cavium Networks, they provide datasheet and SDK for free. Based on that information, I have ported FreeBSD to that platform.
