Siemens SL45i

This is my first ever phone that i can program. According to wikipedia this is the first phone that have the Java Virtual Machine. It came with 32 Mb MMC, and a serial craddle. At that time, card readers were expensive, so I had to use the serial craddle (which is very-very slow).

The CPU used by this phone is C166, a 16 bit microcontroller from Infineon. There was a hacking scene around this chip used by several Siemens phones. Some of the modifications for example: to display the count of SMS received, remove some confirmation warnings, add new shortcuts. The software name to flash the firmware was SLIKvXX (XX is the version number). Looking at my computer, I still have a file named 'SLIK5201w.exe'.
